Defining terms
a) Period:
is the time taken by a wave to complete a cycle.
b) Pulse
repetition frequency: is the frequency through which the pulse are transmitted.
c) Radar
crossection of target: is the total
coverage area at which radar can detect.
d) Pulse
duration: is the time taken by the pulse
from the beginning and ending of pulse.
e) Maximum
unambiguous range: is the maximum
distance that an object can be located in such a way that an object the pulses
arrives at object can return before another pulse.
f) Transmitted
power: is the energy that is in form of electromagnetic waves from the
transmitter to the target.
g) Minimum
detectable signal: is the small amount of backscattered signal from the
reflector object that can be detected by a receiver.
Backscattered: is amount of signal wave that travel back to
the receiver
